This course is one of the Essentials Levels on the PORTICO Learning Hub.

The content for this course has been designed to help new believers, and those who may be curious about the Christian faith, to grow in understanding of what it means to say YES to Jesus; to learn why water baptism is an important expression of faith; and to become aware of how Christians are called to be part of a church family, since as followers of Jesus we are all children of God.

There are (3) modules in this level. The course content is video-based, with segments to watch in each section of the modules. There are 3-4 sections per module.

We encourage you to download the course materials prior to starting a Module, since you will be asked to read specific pages and answer the Reflection Questions at the end of each section, before proceeding to the next point.

The QUIZ at the end of each module has been written to help you understand the content in more depth – with “hints” available for each question, and explanations if you get an incorrect answer. If you score at least 80% you can mark the module as “complete” and then proceed to the next module. Don’t worry if you don’t get all the answers correct the first time – there is no limit to the number of retakes, and there is no time limit for each Quiz. We just want to help you grow in your faith.
